For Ollie’s birthday, I knew exactly what to make him. One of his favorite treats are these peanut butter banana pupcakes. It combines three of his favorite foods; peanut butter, bananas and cream cheese. So, they do not last long in our household.
Since Ollie is a rescue, we don’t know his exact birthday. But when we adopted him, we guesstimated a day and have been celebrating it since. This picture is from a month ago when we celebrated Ollie’s 5th birthday. I bought this bowtie and hat for Ollie’s 1st birthday and try to get a picture each year. Don’t worry, he doesn’t wear it all day, just for a quick photo. The hat is almost identical to the human version my family had growing up. To this day if it is your birthday at my parent’s house, you must wear the birthday cake hat. So when I saw this dog version, I had to get it.
Since Ollie likes to join me in the kitchen, we made him a seat at the counter while making his birthday treat. I think it took him a total of two minutes until he jumped off the chair. Once he realized he couldn’t eat the batter, he was like, “see ya!”
Though he came running as soon as the pupcakes were ready to eat. He likes to eat them in one bite, so don’t do what I did and remove the liner first!
I hope your fur-babies enjoy these as much as Ollie does!
Tips:
I like to make one or two regular size pupcakes to give as a special treat. But then I create minipupcakes with the remaining batter and frosting. Then I freeze them and take out as needed, defrosting before serving.
