So I really enjoy making crafts, especially around the holidays. Corny I know! But, there is something just super soothing about lighting a candle, putting on a festive movie and pulling out the paint. They are also a great activity to share with family while being stuck at home during these crazy times.
I am really excited because this is my first craft video! For this video, I decided to paint some paper mache pumpkins for the Fall season. What is great about paper mache pumpkins is that they last a really long time and you can use them as decorations or even a Thanksgiving centerpiece. I bought my paper mache pumpkins online as a set of three, and when they arrived, I realized they didn’t have any stems. So, I made some by molding air dry clay and then painting. I actually think they came out better than if the stems were already attached to the pumpkins. Overall, I am really happy in how they turned out!
Supplies
Paper mache pumpkins
Air dry clay
Palette knife, pencil or something to add texture to the clay
Super glue or hot glue – I used super glue for extra strength but be safe if using
Acrylic paint
Artificial leaves
Paint brushes
Palette paper, palette or paper plate
Watch the video for the how-to!
*I talk about an acrylic spray at the beginning of the video, but I don’t actually use it.
