My husband, Pete, loves making cocktails. Trying and creating new cocktails together has become a weekly tradition. And with quarantine, we are probably doing this a lot more than we used to (haha).
I personally am seasonal in my cocktail drinking. In the summer, I like something light and refreshing, and in the winter I like something to warm me up. So, when the weather started getting colder this past week, I wanted something with those Autumn spices and whiskey (of course).
Pete’s favorite drink is an old fashioned, so when I was researching Fall cocktails and came across an apple cider old fashioned I knew that is what we needed to make. So, I texted him a recipe for us to try.
On Friday night, after making pizza, we sat down together with our new drinks. I loved the apple cider old fashioned so much that I told him he needed to bookmark that recipe. And his reply to me was, “I didn’t follow that recipe. This is basically my old fashioned recipe with some apple cider thrown in.”
So, I hope you enjoy Pete’s old fashioned with a little apple cider thrown in!
And, since this is his recipe, I had him do the video for it :).
